Before November of last year, the thought of going on a study abroad had never even crossed my mind.
Yet there I was, with graduation in 2015 on the horizon and I felt as though I had nothing to show for it. I wanted to do something defining, something unique, something life-changing. I was discussing this with a dear friend of mine, when she asked if I'd ever considered going on a study abroad. I hadn't. She went to London two summers ago and said it was a life-changing experience. She highly recommended it. I brushed off the thought: I couldn't possibly go on a study abroad!
A few days later, I woke up one morning and had the undeniable impression that I needed to at least look into applying for a study abroad. After a few days of researching, consulting my parents, and lots of praying, I decided to apply to a study abroad program to London for the summer of 2014. In December, a few short weeks later, I was accepted.
So now, I'd like to exclaim to the world:
I am going to LONDON on a study abroad!!!
I am more excited than I ever thought was imaginable. What a unique opportunity it is to study in such a place. Samuel Johnson, the great English writer, once said: "by seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show". I am very excited to have such an experience.
